Pity Party!

For the last month or so I have had a heavy heart. -Nothing to worry about, it's nothing serious Mom.- However, I have felt the need to cry but every time I get close I tell myself, "Courtney, you are being so stupid. Who cries about this? No one. Suck it up, you're fine." I'll be reading an email my mother forwarded me, a sweet commercial, a song on the radio, a situation on reruns of Grey's Anatomy that I must have seen 4 times already and all of the sudden my chin starts to quiver and I get that unflattering scrunched up look on my face. Anyway, I think the reason it hasn't gone away is because I'm not letting it out.
SO... Tonight Marcus is in OKC until late so I am having my first scheduled pity party. I'm pulling out all of my movies that make me cry... Beaches, The Family Stone, Finding Neverland and Steel Magnolias. I'm going to cry, eat what is left of my fresh pineapple, and cuddle with my puppy. Then tomorrow, I'll clean up the tissue, put away the movies and move on. Hopefully my experiment will be a success.

My new obsession...

In my last post I mentioned that I am putting together a cookbook and needed recipes. One of my friends suggested that I take a look at Pinterest. After a look at the website I decided to join and within 24 hours I was a member and pinning like crazy. For those of you who don't know what Pinterest is - a website full of pictures (crafts, homes, decor, fashion, cooking, etc.) I highly recommend it if you haven't heard of it already. The website really needs to have a caution statement because I haven't gotten anything done since I found it.
So, for those of you who know me know that I am a very passionate person. When I love something, I love it with my whole heart. When I hate something, well... lets just say I don't try to hide it. As the weather is getting cooler my inner clock is telling me its time to start decorating for Fall and not just Fall... HALLOWEEN!!! Halloween happens to be my favorite holiday of the whole entire year! I've decided to put my Pinterest obsession to good use and create my decorations this year!
The first picture was the easiest, take cinnamon sticks, a candle and glue. Ta-da!
The second picture is my favorite. You take mason jars, add wire and hang them on your fence. We put 6 around our backyard and then hung 4 different lanterns on our tree. Its so beautiful at night when they are all lit up!
The 3rd picture originally had high heels on the witch but for those of you who attended our wedding probably noticed that I wore orange high top converse under my wedding dress. Adding the converse to my witch just felt like the right thing to do...
The last picture is actually off the internet, I'm working on mine now (waiting for the paint to dry). I changed things a bit, I used a trash can, green, orange and black spray paint. I'll post a picture of it when I'm finished.
